
NEW YORK — A historic golden jubilee celebration honoring the 50th anniversary of multi-talented player, singer, and social activist Hajuri Shah is scheduled to take place in Jackson Heights.
The event, themed “Celebrating a Life of Resilience, Empowerment and Service to Society,” highlights Shah’s five decades experience and inspiration to sports, music, and community development.

A Journey of Resilience
Shah’s inspiring life journey began in Dhobidhara, Kathmandu. As a separated woman facing numerous personal challenges, she built a impactful life through courage and hard work. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Tribhuvan University. She is the daughter of the late Badahakim Nanda Bahadur Shah and Bhawani Shah.
Major Achievements & Affiliations
- Sports: 2nd Prize in Women’s High Jump (First National Games 2038 B.S., Narayani Zone) and 3rd Prize in the Women’s 400 Meter Relay Race.
- Music: Recorded several songs and received the Nava Pratibha Award at the 2nd Art Culture and Music Awards (Chitra 05, 2078).
- Global Social Work: Active in earthquake and flood relief campaigns in Israel and Nepal, and a volunteer teacher for the Saral Nepali Language & Culture School in New York (2021–2023).
- Affiliations: Lifetime member of Manav Sewa Ashram, Sahayogi Manharuko Samaj Israel, Nari ka Lagi Nari, and the International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) America.
